Ambode holds press conference to herald 2019 race

The Executive Governor of Lagos State His Excellency Akinwunmi Ambode will on Monday at his office in Alausa, Ikeja meet with journalists to unfold plans for the 2019 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.

According to Olukayode Thomas, Head of Communications and Media for the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, he stated that the Governor, as well as the other sponsors and partners, are all set for the parley with the media practitioners on Monday.

Thomas also revealed that Bukola Olopade, the Race Organizer and Chairman of Nilayo Sports Management Company and General Manager for the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, Yussuf Alli will be reeling out his technical programmes and other innovations geared at seeing the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon become one of the best road races in the world.

He said: “Yes, the countdown to the 2019 Marathon has since started, the Governor and the sponsors will be having a session with the media on Monday to bring them up to speed with what we are doing to make the next race even better.

“The media have been very resourceful and of immense help in the past editions of the Marathon Race, so it is only proper that we brief them accordingly to see our past achievements and also let them in into our projections into the future” Thomas added.

The Access Bank Lagos City Marathon which is set for its fourth edition on February 2, 2019, has been growing in leaps and bounds since its inception in 2016.

Some of the dignitaries expected at Monday’s press parley fixed for 3.pm include the President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, AFN Ibrahim Gusua and other members of the athletics family
