Lagos state residents have been advised to always go about with a valid means of identification to avoid unpleasant incidences especially now that men of the force are carrying out some operations to rid the state of criminals.
This is coming on the heels of some people that were burnt alive on suspicion that they were members of the notorious Badoo boys that have been terrorising Ikorodu communities.
It was learnt that the victims were clubbed to death after they couldn’t identify themselves.
In a statement by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, warned members of the public especially residents in ikorodu and environs, to henceforth move around part of the state with valid ID card.
According the Lagos state police command, “all residents, students or workers should always have on them a valid form of identification.”
CP Fatai Owoseni reiterated that the order becomes important and necessary because of the series of police operations lined up in the area by the Lagos state police command which will be led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations.
Part of the statement reads: “We are deeply concerned about the criminal activities in the area which is not only unlawful but also affecting the integrity of the state.
“The planned police operations demands residents to carry on them a valid form of identification which will be verified, in order not to be restricted or face apprehension as adequate security arrangements have been put in place for the safety of every Nigerian throughout the state by the police and other security agencies.
