Thirteen individuals have been arrested in connection with an attack on the convoy of Oyo State Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources officials on Monday.
The incident occurred in the Mobil area of Ring Road, Ibadan, during a routine operation to remove shanties and illegal structures.
The ministry officials were met with resistance from suspected hoodlums who pelted their vehicles with objects, resulting in broken windows.
Following the attack, the ministry reported the incident to the State Commissioner of Police.

A joint operation by the police, Amotekun, and Civil Defense forces led to the arrest of 13 suspects, who were taken to the state police headquarters for further investigation.
The Oyo State Commissioner of Environment, Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, has vowed that the attack will not deter him from his commitment to eradicating illegal occupation of public spaces.
He emphasized the state’s continued efforts to remove unauthorized structures and advised residents to utilize government-approved markets for their commercial activities.
