The former aide to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bashir Ahmad sparked mixed reactions among Nigerians when he made a daring claim via his official twitter page.
Making a comment as regards to the upcoming 2023 general elections, Bashir, who is with the All Progressives Congress, APC claimed that more than 97% of his parties’ voters are offline.
It is common knowledge that if the elections were to be held online, then the APC would struggle to win.
Because of this, Bashir is feeling really confident that since most of their voters aren’t online, then they don’t have to worry about the online commentary and opinions.
Reacting to the tweet, many people asked if part of the reason why what Bashir is saying might be true is because there are underage children being registered as eligible voters in the North?Others believe that in as much as what Bashir is saying might be true, other candidates too have a lot of their voters offline as well.
