Members of the Osun NNPP supporting the APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu have come forward to admit and give their reason.
In a press release signed by the leader of the group, Clement Bamigbola, the group said the party’s state caretaker chairman Abdulsalam Abiola made a statement that showed the party is dead in Osun.
Abiola, reacting to the initial rumor of the faction supporting Tinubu, said those involved, especially the senatorial candidates, are liabilities to the party, and would not be missded..
Clement Bamigbola, Osun Central Senatorial, Bolaji Akinyode, Osun West Senatorial, Olalekan Fabayo, and Oluwaseyi Ajayi of Boluwaduro/Ifedayo/Ila, and Ijesa South Federal Constituencies dumped Rabiu Kwankwaso for Tinubu, because they claimed the party lackes transparency.
“Our decision to support Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in the 2023 general elections serves as evidence of the Osun NNPP’s imminent collapse.
“It is unfortunate to see the so-called acting chairman referring to the party candidates as irrelevant members. It shows the man in question knows nothing about politics. As at today, NNPP is dead in Osun state.”
