Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has dismissed news of his plan to announce his presidential ambition after the APC convention Feb 26.
There were media reports on Monday that Osinbajo would do that, prompting his media office to respond.
His spokesman, Laolu Akande, clarified that the report making the rounds is false and speculative snippets.
“I’ve seen “news” that VP’ll announce presidential bid after APC’s convention. Anyone reading the story ‘ll know it’s all false and speculative snippets,” he tweeted.
“Any information on activities and actions of the VP will come directly from his office and not sponsored speculations in the press.”
Osinbajo has kept a tight upper lip since presidential hopefuls began declaring their intentions.
His godfather and APC leader Bola Tinubu has declared his, and some think Osinbajo, who rode on his tail o Aso Rock in 2015, will not contest against Tinubu for the party ticket.
