Chief Bode George, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, has described the presidential ambition of All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, as a huge joke.

The PDP chieftain said this on Monday, January 10, while reacting to Tinubu’s decision to inform President Muhammadu Buhari of his intention to contest, The Punch reports.

He Nigeria’s presidency is not for persons like the former governor of Lagos state.

The PDP chieftain l said: “This so-called ambition must be a huge joke. The Presidency of Nigeria is not for characters like Bola Tinubu. Look at how he mismanaged the resources of Lagos State.

“It is surprising that he can even dream of becoming the President of Nigeria. He is living in cuckoo land.”

George further said Tinubu would be shocked by how things will go and how he will be double-crossed by those he is trusting.

The PDP chieftain said the southwest had quality leaders who could produce the next president of Nigeria, adding that Tinubu was not one of them.

He added that it would be an insult for the southwest, which he described as the most sophisticated region in the country, to settle for Tinubu.

George also said it was unfortunate that a hallowed ground like the Presidential Villa would be the location for Tinubu to declare his ambition.

Earlier, the Former deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Bode George urged President Muhammadu Buhari to be wary of those promoting a Tinubu presidency in 2023.

Bode George also advises former governor of Osun state,Chief Bisi Akande not to engage in a fruitless campaign of fulfilling Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s dream of governing Nigeria.

The PDP chieftain was reacting to the visit of some Tinubu’s associates led by Chief Akande to President Buhari recently.

He said:“The very absence of Bola Tinubu from the jamboree screams to high heavens that the meeting itself is a covert placatory softening of the ground for Tinubu himself. I am pretty certain that in his very absence, Tinubu occupies the centrality of the discussion.

“I will advise Baba Akande who governed Osun state with principled, incorruptible leadership to kindly help us drop off Bola Tinubu at Iragbiji as he makes his way back to Ila-Orangun.”

Meanwhile, a group, the South- East Destiny Movement for Bola Ahmed Tinubu 2023 on Thursday, January 6, said that the national leader for the All Progressives Congress (APC) can make things happen in Nigeria.

The group also urged Bola Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos state to join in the race for the much anticipated 2023 presidential election.

The convener for SEDMBAT, Ekene Enefe, described Tinubu as a good man who should be encouraged to run for the presidency.

He said the group had taken its time to assess the achievement of Tinubu as a governor and leader of the party and realised that he (Tinubu) has built an array of human capital within a short period of time.

The group also said Tinubu is one detribalised Nigerian who as a governor had appointees from every part of the country.

Enefe said: “BAT (Tinubu) is one man that believes in merit; if you have the competence he is looking for, he engages you; that is the kind of man Nigeria needs now.

“We are supporting him because what Nigeria needs in a president is capacity, competence and national acceptability.”

Noting that Nigeria is in dire need of a good leader, Enefe assured that the APC leader can harness and allocate the resources of this country equitably.
