Amid the ongoing war of words between the Spokesmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Festus Keyamo, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Dele Momodu over the recently launched campaign manifesto of the ruling party, veteran political analyst and journalist, Dr. Reuben Abati has come out to share his thoughts on the development.

Recall, that shortly after the release of the APC presidential campaign manifesto on Friday, October 21, 2022, Chief Momodu lampooned the ruling party, accusing it of plagiarizing the contents of the MKO Abiola manifesto of 1993.

As expected, the PDP chieftain’s remarks didn’t sit well with APC spokesman, Festus Keyamo. In an official statement published by several media outlets, Keyamo had dismissed Momodu’s claims, insisting that the former presidential aspirant had failed to cite the so-called similarities between both documents to prove that the ruling party was indeed guilty of plagiarism.

Reacting to the verbal exchange between both men during a session of ARISE TV’s ‘The Morning Show’ on Tuesday, Dr. Reuben Abati explained that it was normal for Chief Dele Momodu to have criticized the APC manifesto because he must do everything possible to promote his party. He went on to say that it was also normal for Festus Keyamo to take offense to the words of the PDP chieftain, adding that the APC spokesman is expected to defend his party’s policy document as well.

Dr. Abati, however, disclosed that he was not pleased with the choice of words being used by politicians in the bid to pass across their message to the populace. The veteran journalist urged party spokespersons to instead focus their energies on selling their candidates by analyzing to the people what their candidates intend to do if elected into office.
