Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, a leading aspirant for the 2027 Lagos State governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has declared his readiness to support a consensus candidate should the party leadership adopt that approach.

In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Gbenga Ogunleye, Jandor dismissed speculations suggesting that a preferred aspirant had already been endorsed for the forthcoming governorship race, insisting that no such decision has been taken by the party’s leadership.

“We restate, in line with the official position of the Lagos State APC leadership as communicated by the State Chairman, that no aspirant has been anointed and that all aspirants will participate in a credible primary election,” the statement read.

While affirming his preparedness to contest in a transparent primary process, Jandor stated that he would respect and align with any collective decision reached by the party, including the adoption of a consensus candidate.

“If the leadership of the party resolves to adopt a consensus candidacy, he will fully align with that decision, irrespective of who emerges,” the statement added.

According to his media office, the position underscores his readiness to compete fairly while remaining committed to the unity and supremacy of the party.

Jandor further disclosed that he remains fully active in the race, strengthening his grassroots structures and engaging in consultations with party stakeholders and members across Lagos State.

He cautioned party members and supporters against interpreting individual endorsements or campaigns by political groups as reflecting the official position of the APC leadership.

“JANDOR urges party members not to mistake a campaign by an individual or a political group for their choice aspirant as the party position or that of our Leader. When the party and our Leader speak, I am sure no one will do otherwise,” the statement concluded.

The clarification comes amid increasing political activity and permutations within the Lagos APC as aspirants intensify consultations ahead of the 2027 governorship contest.
