A Jos Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday sentenced a 24-year-old student, David Odiwe, for trespass and stealing from a woman’s house.
The Magistrate, Shawomi Bokkos, summarily tried and sentenced the convict after he pleaded guilty to the charge.
Bokkos gave him an option of N50,000 fine or 6 months in prison and asked him to pay a compensation of N300,000 or spend another 18 months in default.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Ibrahim Gokwat, told the court that the case was reported on Sept. 19 at the “B” Division police station by one Aisha Salish, the complainant.

Gokwat said the convict trespassed into the house and stole the following items, Tablet pad, valued at N155,000, shoes worth N80,000, phone also valued N80,000, wristwatch worth N20,000.
“During Police investigation the wristwatch was recovered from him,” he said.
He said that the offence contravened the Plateau State Penal Code Law.
