Two men were on Monday docked in an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for allegedly stealing an articulated vehicle worth N16 million.
The police charged Oyewale Ibrahim , 23, and Animashaun Rilwan, 25 with two counts of conspiracy and theft.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecution Counsel, Insp Sikiru Ibrahim, told the court that the defendants on May 22, at Nasfat Area, Oremeji, Ibadan, stole a Mack articulated vehicle with Registration No: LSD 579 YA, valued at N16 million, belonging to Mr Hakim Bello .
He said the offence contravenes the provisions of Section 383 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000. and punishable under Section 390 (9) and 516 of the same Law(NAN)
The counsel to the defendants, Mrs Seyi Alabi prayed the court to admit her clients to bail in the most the most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Mrs Serifat Adesina, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N2 million with two sureties in like sum .
Adesina adjourned the matter until July 4 for hearing
