Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Face, has openly reflected on his past, admitting to making several mistakes in both his professional career and personal life.
The legendary singer made the revelations in a preview of an upcoming episode of the Mic On podcast, where he spoke candidly about his experiences, regrets and personal growth over the years.
According to the award-winning artiste, hindsight has made him realise that there were several decisions he wishes he had handled differently, noting that life’s pressures and circumstances sometimes influenced his choices.
“There are so many things I wish I could rewind and do better. As a human being, there are times when you are overwhelmed or don’t make the best decisions. My thick skin is weaker now,” he said.
The African Queen crooner also addressed reports surrounding his alleged altercation with his new wife, Natasha Osawaru, which reportedly led to his arrest in London in October 2025. Speaking on the incident, the singer admitted that he bore responsibility for what transpired.
“I was angry that day. It was an unfortunate incident,” he stated, without providing further details about the circumstances surrounding the episode.
2Face, who has remained one of Africa’s most celebrated and influential musicians for over two decades, is widely respected for his contributions to the Nigerian music industry and his role in shaping contemporary Afrobeats and R&B sound.
Over the years, the singer has also been known for his advocacy work and public commentary on social and political issues in Nigeria. However, his personal life has occasionally drawn public scrutiny, particularly regarding relationships and family matters.
Observers say the singer’s recent reflections signal a period of introspection and maturity, as he continues to maintain relevance in the music industry while navigating public attention around his personal life.
The full episode of the Mic On podcast, where the artiste is expected to share deeper insights into his journey, challenges and evolving outlook on life, is anticipated to be released soon.
