10 suspected cult members that have been terrorising Mushin area of Lagos, have been nabbed according to the Olosan Division of the Lagos State Police Command.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Olosan, CSP Adekunle Omisakin, who confirmed their arrest on Friday further disclosed that the suspects were arrested at Omodigbo Buhari Street, Mushin on Thursday.
The identified suspects included: Babatunde Adejuwon, Sadiq Adeniyi, Rasheed Olabode, and David Oyedeji.
“Others are: Kazeem Taiwo, Denis Bob, Quadri Omoleye, Seun Enilolobo Saheed Oguntola and Owolabi Fatunmise.
It was learnt that the arrested suspects belong to two rival cult groups “Aiye” and “Alora”, and they have been making lives terrible for the residents of the area in recent times.
It was, however, gathered that one “Aiye” member who was allegedly attacked with machetes had reported the case to the police station last Wednesday necessitating a mop up operations that led to be area of be suspects.
“We rushed to the scene immediately but could not arrest anyone. But we were able to arrest 10 members of both gangs on Thursday. They have been transferred to the Anti-Cultism Unit of the command, for further investigations,” Omisakin reiterated.
The DPO explained that all the suspects had confessed to being members of the cult groups operating in the area.
It was gathered that investigations have commenced to arrest other members of the group.
