Pa Fawole Alade is the oldest graduate Lagos has ever produced in its up-skilling programme for tradesmen and artisan over the years.

He 76-year-old from Igbogbo Bayeku completed his training as a bricklayer, and was one of 2000 Lagosians trained in that 12th cohort.

According to him, age is no barrier. And with that he was able to push through the eight-week programme  the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment organized in partnership with BOSCH.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony in Ikeja, Lagos state Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said that Alade and other trainees were empowered with tools and technical equipment, to facilitate their transition to modern practice in their vocations.

“As a forward-looking government, we cannot afford to ignore the rapid pace of change in the 21st century. Lagos artisans cannot afford to be left behind,” said Sanwo-Olu.
