Bandits kidnap, kill traditional ruler in Taraba
Bandits unleashed terror on the traditional institution in Taraba State, killing the traditional ruler of Yukuben chiefdom in Takum Local Government Area, Udeng Ibrahim Yamusa. The bandits also killed the son of the traditional ruler who was his driver at the time. They were first kidnapped and taken to a different destination where they were killed.
The traditional ruler and his son were said to be returning to the palace from Takum, headquarters of Takum Local Government Area when the bandits ambushed and kidnapped them.
The Secretary of the traditional identified as his first son, Pastor John Ibrahim, was cited to have narrated: “My father and brother were taken unaware by these suspected militias. They decided to travel on a motorcycle leaving his official car because of our dilapidated road network.”
It disclosed the traditional ruler had attended a peace meeting in Takum which was postponed and met his death on his way back to the palace.
Bandits were said to be unleashing mayhem on communities in Yangtu Special Development Area, Takum, and Ussa local government areas in recent time.
