Russia threatens missile strikes against Europe
Russia has threatened missile strikes against European countries supplying missiles to Ukraine for attack on Russian territory.
Russia, accordingly, cautioned that it has the right to use weapons against military facilities in countries that allow their weapons to be used against its facilities.
“We warned you about this, but you’ve made your choice,” Russia declared.
President Vladimir Putin of Russia had in a television broadcast after the Oreshnik strike, threatened European countries whose weapons were used against Russia, declaring, “We consider ourselves entitled to use our weapons against military facilities of those countries that allow their weapons to be used against our facilities.”
Thereafter, the Commander of Strategic Missile Forces in Russia, Sergei Viktorovich, at a meeting with Putin, assured that President of the continental capacity of the Oreshnik missile, saying “It can hit targets throughout Europe.”
Russia’s Defence Ministry had on Tuesday acknowledged that Ukraine fired ATACMS to struck an S-400 air defence radar at Lotarevka on Saturday and the Khalino airfield on Monday.
It was noted that both objects are about 90km (560 miles) from Ukrainian front-line positions in Kursk.
The Defence Ministry of Russia had acknowledged the attack after President Vladimir Putin had vowed to retaliate licensed Ukraine to fire 200km-range (120-mile) SCALP/Storm Shadow missiles into Russia.
The United States on Tuesday provided the first official confirmation that its long-range Army Tactical Missiles (ATACMS) were in use by Ukraine against Russia.
European countries were worried that Russia’s retaliatory response with an intermediate ballistic missile that could strike “anywhere in Europe”.
Meanwhile, Russian forces have continued to advance through Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region, seizing more villages.
While the U.S. is consolidating alliance with European countries in NATO, other big powers like China, North Korea strengthen alliance with Russia.
