Architectural Design was let into Lekki mansion of Afro-fusion icon Burna Boy recently. The interior and design made the cut inside AD100–a collection of architectural wonders around the world.

More interesting is how the owner breezed through the tour as he conducted the AD crew through the breath-taking piece designed by Akose Enebeli.

Here you go:

Yeah, Wassup AD, welcome to my crib, Come in.

We’re gonna start with the waiting area, right here.

This is where you wait for me when you pull up,

as a visitor, like you.

The paintings are done by my little sister,

Nissi, shout out to her, you get me.

Moving on.

Yeah man, so this is my favorite room, the Burna room.

So this is where I come to get my inspiration,

and get my head right, and stuff.

A lot of special things here.

See all the old records and vinyls.

Most of them given to me by my Granddad.

And that’s him, when he was Fela Kuti’s manager.

This is a [indistinct],

at least you got Bob Marley.

Got [indistinct] star, legend,

you got me, [chuckles], young legend.

But yeah, got the lil’ Family wall,

that’s my Mom and Dad, Grandma, all that.

Yeah, man, so this is where the vibe is.

Living room downstairs, I made sure you can see

the pool [indistinct],

Just to see what’s going on outside, you know?

Bar, very important, very important [chuckles].

Here’s the first floor, my little sister

Roni’s room, she has this weird [bleep] ceiling,

I don’t even know why she did that.

She’s kind of cool.

My little sister, Nissi’s room.

You see the paint board,

out of all the paintings in my house,

she done them so,

she probably about to cook something up.

Moving on up.

My little spot [indistinct]

This my little living room.

This is kind of like as many awards as I could fit

because, this whole place would look like a

shrine if you put all of them, [laughs].

Little bar again, I told you

I had 400 bars, in here.

Got to get lit!

[upbeat music]

This the top of the world,

top of my world, [laughs].

Welcome to the garden, of Burna.

Tried to make a little island and stuff,

you know, a little vibe.

Look at the jungle, look, this where I come

to pray every morning as well.

[techno music]

Well, we go to the cinema when it’s movie time,

shoes go off.

That’s all my favorite movies on the wall.

If you don’t know Stranger Things, we have issues,

Boyz N The Hood need no explanation.

I think this wall just shows you

how to win my heart, you know,

[indistinct] little movie time you get me,

I’ll come make you snacks, fridge, all of that.

Now we’re going to the magic spot.

Uh, huh, yeah man come on.

My little dressing room.

It’s time to get fly.

You know, I’m your guy.

Yeah.

This is actually sneaky right here,

false door. [opens door]

Yeah, man.

Come on, Let’s leave the genius.

[energized beat continues]

[upbeat music plays]

Yeah, man, obviously you got the

pool as you can see,

come over here, come here

let me show you something,

you see that right there?

[water noises]

Yeah!

[laughs]

So basically the idea for this was,

I wanted it to feel like the pool

was going in the house,

that’s my little idea.

This the sunk-in lounge, so obviously, you know,

I love fireplaces and stuff,

but that’s not practical in Nigeria, [indistinct]

so just kind of improvised, have

little night parties, barbecues.

[upbeat music plays]

So my beautiful AD people,

showed you to crib, showed you how

I live in my little negro space.

Last time, you all have to go home.

Peace!

Culled from AD
