Residents of Umuahia, Abia State, have been thrown into panic, developing apprehension over their security, as the sit-at-home order by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), continues into week four on Monday.

National Daily gathered that the observation or compliance with the sit-at-home order of the IPOB was made mandatory on Mondays. Sources noted as in previous Mondays, in the enforcement this Monday, banks, some shops, major markets and certain other public places were shut down.  Few commercial and private vehicles were said to be seen on major roads of Umuahia.

It was disclosed that Police patrol vehicles were seen on the streets and major roads of Umuahia in the early hours of today, Monday.

The police patrol teams were said to be deployed to prevent any form of pandemonium that could lead to breakdown of law and order.

The relative compliance level was said to be the same in Aba, the commercial city of Abia State. A previous statement linked to IPOB, relaying suspension of the sit-at-home order, was said to be ignored by residents, leading to their decision to stay away from the streets of Aba, as in Umuahia.
