Following the first video interview of Nollywood actor Baba Ijesha since his release from prison, actress Iyabo Ojo has issued a sharp warning, urging him not to involve her children in his public statements.

In a detailed statement, Ojo addressed claims by Baba Ijesha that she had once entrusted him with her children. She said she has no objection to him telling his side of the story but emphasized: “This is a notice to cease and desist from using my children as your cheap bait. It won’t fly.”

Ojo clarified that her children have always been under the care of nannies or her late mother and were never left unattended.

“At my former business place in Ilupeju, I had multiple staff — stylists, sales reps — so it is unlikely I would be running errands. I can always send a worker if needed,” she added, highlighting the robust support system around her children.

She also stressed that while she respects his right to share his version of events, Baba Ijesha must not mislead the public with false claims about her family. “You were a senior colleague and nothing more. However, that 14-year-old was a minor, and sexual assault is never okay,” she said.

The statement follows Baba Ijesha’s interview with Talk to B Show, where he alleged that his legal troubles began after fallout with comedian Princess, claimed that some witnesses later apologised to him while he was in prison, and referenced Ojo’s children in his remarks.

Ojo’s response represents a firm rebuttal, underscoring that her children must not be used in any public narrative, while reiterating the severity of sexual assault against minors and her commitment to protecting her family’s integrity.

This interaction highlights the continuing tension in Nollywood over sensitive allegations and the importance of safeguarding the rights and safety of minors in public discourse.
