A party stalwart in the Alliance for Democracy has announced his resignation from his party, and his plan to join forces with the APC candidate Kayode Fayemi in the state’s guber election on July 14.

Oluseyi Osekita, who contested against Fayemi in 2014, said he and his supporters were defecting because the AD lacks inspiring leadership.

According to him, he is motivated by Fayemi’s leadership.

“I’m leaving with all my supporters in the 16 local government areas to the APC to join in the struggle to liberate the people of the state,” Osekita said.

“Fayemi is the best for Ekiti; he did well in the office and gave a free hand to his appointees.”

He said Fayemi is not a dictator, and he executed legacy projects which are still there to speak for him when he was governor.

Fayemi beat over 30 rivals in the APC primary election conducted twice in the last two weeks.

Analysts believe the July election will be a contest between the APC candisate and the PDP’s, Deputy Gov. Olusola who many believe is Gov. Ayo Fayose’s stooge.
