Adeyemi Federal University of Education Honours Distinguished Alumni

The management of the Federal University of Education (AFUED), Ondo, Ondo State, has honoured some distinguished alumni with award of excellence.

Mr. Temitope Musowo, a fellow of Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR), and Carnegie Corporation of New-York is one of the recipients of the award.

Musowo was presented the Alumni Achievement Award on Wednesday during the 2024 edition of the National Conference of Arts and Social Sciences,
which took place at the Olusegun Obasanjo Auditorium of the University.

The awardee who is also the founding president of Blossom Africa Initiative, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that is focused on Africa’s development was honored with other achievers produced by the School of Arts and Social Sciences of AFUED.

Other old students who were honored alongside Mr. Musowo include; Prof. Adesoji Abimbola Omotayo, a seasoned scholar and a professor of History; Prof. Oyenike Eludoyin, a professor of Climatology: Dr. Olatunde Oladokun, the CEO of SEAP Microfinace Bank; Mr. Olusola Oluyide, the CEO of LOMAS VERDES LIMITED, among others.

Speaking during the event which featured an alumni homecoming, workshop and a book presentation, the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Samuel Akintunde said the awardees were carefully selected based on their outstanding contributions to the development of the society.

“We are proud of you today because you have made us proud. We recognise your outstanding contributions to our society, that is why we have carefully selected you among many for this outstanding award”. He said.

During her welcoming address, the chairperson, National Conference Planning Committee, Dr. O. Molalaye said the old students of the School of Arts and Social Sciences were honored for putting the name of the Institution on the global map.

Meanwhile, Temitope Musowo, during an interview with newsmen after the award presentation expressed his gratitude to the school for the honour.

“To be remembered by an institution where I graduated as an NCE holder in the year 1999 is a great honour that I do not take for granted. I promise to continue making the school proud”, he said.
