Rasheedat Ajibade has criticised the Nigeria Football Federation over what she described as inadequate preparation for upcoming competitions involving the Super Falcons.

In a series of posts on her Instagram story on Wednesday, the Super Falcons captain expressed frustration over the lack of official communication regarding key plans, including the team’s camp opening date and scheduled friendly matches ahead of the April international window.

Ajibade revealed that players had not received formal updates from the federation, adding that she was only informed informally that camp would open on April 11. She shared a screenshot of a conversation believed to be with an NFF official to support her claims.

The forward stressed the importance of proper planning, noting that the team is preparing for both the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

“We are not just preparing for WAFCON; we are also fighting for World Cup qualification. Our performance at WAFCON will determine whether we qualify for the World Cup,” she wrote.

She questioned the level of urgency from the federation, adding in frustration: “Why are we not preparing with the seriousness and intensity this demands? This is not something to take lightly.”

The Super Falcons are expected to compete in the rescheduled WAFCON tournament, set to take place from July 26 to August 16 in Morocco.

The situation has also sparked reactions within the team, with goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie appearing to question the disparity in preparations. She shared a post referencing the Super Eagles’ upcoming Unity Cup participation, captioned: “So Eagles get another AFCON for July?”

The development has intensified scrutiny on the federation’s handling of the women’s national team as preparations for major tournaments draw closer.
