The President of the 10th Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has refuted reports alleging that he collapsed and was flown to London for medical treatment, describing the claims as false and misleading.
The denial was issued by his Consultant on Communications and Strategy, Mr. Kenny Okolugbo, who dismissed the report in clear terms. When contacted to confirm the alleged health incident, Okolugbo stated that the claim regarding the Senate President’s health was untrue.
“It’s a lie, fake news,” he said, without providing further details.
The clarification follows a report published on Monday by an online news platform, which claimed that Senator Akpabio had suffered a collapse and was subsequently airlifted to London aboard a private jet for urgent medical care.
No official information from the Senate or the office of the Senate President has indicated any health challenge or disruption to Akpabio’s official duties, reinforcing the assertion that the report is unfounded.
