Alejandro Garnacho has been described as a beautiful player by Theo Walcott.

The Arsenal legend singled out the Manchester United’s sensation for praise after the Red Devils thrilling FA Cup quarter-final win over Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp’s side looked set to advance to the semi-finals at the expense of Erik ten Hag’s side as they led 2-1 and 3-2 before the hosts produced a rousing comeback to win 4-3.

Garnacho provided the assist for Amad Diallo’s late and dramatic winner and also had a hand in Scott McTominay’s opener at Old Trafford, stinging the palms of Caoimhin Kelleher with a powerful shot before the Scot poked home.

Asked about Garnacho’s performance, former England star Walcott said on BBC’s Match of the Day: ‘How much time have you got?

Walcott had described Garnacho as a beautiful player

‘The thing about Garnacho which I always like, he always gets into spaces where it’s hard to pick him up. He makes runs off the ball, but not just that, it’s his end product as well and the passion that we see.

‘He’s always available for the ball. And what I like about him, he’s always positive, every time he gets the ball. It’s a generation of inverted wingers, but he likes to go on the outside, which I really enjoy. He’s always keeping the full-back guessing. He always manages to create so much space for himself.

‘He’s always in demand, always wants the ball. He’s got that sort of arrogance about himself to try things too. Even in the 120th minute he can still do it. And not just that, he seemed to run faster and faster with the ball.

‘I feel like he’s got the veins of a Manchester United player. He’s a beautiful player.’

Garnacho has established himself as one of Manchester United’s most exciting players over the past two seasons, scoring 12 goals in 74 appearances.

The Argentine will look to help United win their second trophy under Ten Hag when the domestic campaign restarts after the international break. The Red Devils return to action on March 30 against Brentford.

They then face Chelsea, Liverpool and Bournemouth before a FA Cup semi-final showdown against Championship side Coventry City.

Out of Europe and the top-four places, Manchester United’s season was threatening to unravel but Ten Hag believes the epic win over Liverpool could be a turning point in the campaign.

‘This could be that moment,’ he said. ‘It can give the team the belief and energy to do amazing things. When you beat Liverpool you can beat any opponent.’
