Students of Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education AOCOED, are devastated by the inappropriate delay in the release of its 2015-2016 final results. The part-time grandaunts of the school’s Sandwich degree program that have since completed their final exams in 2016 have had to wait all the while for the release of their results.
Speaking to National Daily, one of the students who pleaded anonymity, narrated the situation, “sadly, the school is just interested in collecting money from us. We have finished our program since 2016 after spending more than N600, 000 from 100 to 400 level.  And since then nothing has been said about the release of our results”.
Some of the students who have started hosting series of peaceful protests in the school’s premises said they will not relent in the pursuit of their goals until their matter was drawn to a logical conclusion with the school management. As they demand for the immediate release of their results.
Speaking with National Daily yesterday, another AOCOED Student, Ibrahim Adetutu, said it’s rumored within the school premises that the major reason why the results are being withheld is because AOCOED owes Ekiti State University, “That is why our results have not been attended to since 2016. It’s quite unfortunate because we students do not owe them a dime” he lamented.
Kolawole Adegbuyi  in his December 13, 2018 Op Ed titled Betrayals Hinder the Success Of Result Struggle said “How could human being be so heartless without an iota of human feeling and not even remorseful about the obnoxious attitude towards the results? Students have been facing various temptation and setback because of this result. Many successful interviews had been disqualified and many promotions had been hindered because no evidence of graduation and certification. This is cheating and oppression and we continue to press more until the truth prevail and the success is achieved. It is unimaginable that education in Nigeria could be suffering like this while government stands aloof. For how long will education in Nigeria wait to enjoy sweetness and due right?”
When National Daily spoke with Dr. Joseph Olu Owoso, AOCOED director of the part-time programs,  on phone, he explained that the situation. According to him, the 2016 final results was delayed because the results of 2015 was yet to be released, “due to ASUU strike, general elections and other unfavorable logistics issues we couldn’t process the 2015 results for Senate approval and hence couldn’t release the results to the students. And until 2015 results is processed and released it is not possible to process 2016 results”.
However, Dr. Olowoso says the 2015 and 2016 results are now approved for release by the senate. He said the preparation to release 2015 is almost ready, “By the end of the month, the results will be released to the 2015 set”.
The director, who explained that he just resumed the seat of office in line to fix up the existing mess and rescue the situation, says he is also working on the computation of the 2016 results and will be available before the end of the year. He stated his awareness of the fact that students are already fabricating blackmails and hopes they don’t instigate actions that will further delay the release of the results.
“I am aware they are having a plan to go to the press, ICPC and so on. If they go and do something that will delay me from doing something that I am supposed to do, it will delay further. There are no serious issues that will delay the results again. Unless the students do something that will prevent me from doing what I am supposed to do. I am already aware I may have to submit to investigation, from ICPC and EFCC” he said
