The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the cost of nomination and expression of interest forms for aspirants seeking to contest various elective positions on its platform ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to details circulating within party circles, the highest fee applies to presidential aspirants, with the nomination and interest forms pegged at N200 million.

The move signals the party’s early preparations for what is expected to be a highly competitive electoral cycle.

For senatorial aspirants, the combined cost of the nomination and expression of interest forms has been fixed at N100 million.

Those seeking to contest for seats in the House of Representatives are required to pay N70 million.

Governorship aspirants under the APC platform are to obtain their nomination and interest forms at a cost of N150 million, reflecting the strategic importance of gubernatorial contests across the states.

Meanwhile, aspirants for State Houses of Assembly are expected to pay N20 million for their nomination and interest forms.

The announcement has already generated reactions from political observers and stakeholders, with debates focusing on the implications of the fees for internal party democracy, youth participation, and inclusiveness.

Analysts note that while high nomination fees may serve as a fundraising mechanism for political parties, they also raise concerns about accessibility for grassroots aspirants.

As the countdown to 2027 gradually begins, attention is expected to shift toward how other major political parties will structure their own nomination processes and fees in the coming months.
