APC crisis: Minister Ogah declares war against Abia Chairman, warns for a limit to political madness

The Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, has declared war against the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, as the leadership crisis in the party deepens.

The Minister decried an online publication captioned: ‘Steel Minister, Uche Ogah, Causing Crisis in Abia APC — Chairman” identified to be sponsored by Enyinnaya Harbour, APC State Chairman in the state. Uche Ogah in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Special Duties, Demian Igbokwe, drew the battleline with Enyinnaya Harbour, asserting that there is one constitutionally recognized State chairman of APC in Abia, who he identified to be Hon. Donatus Nwankpa.

The Mines and Steel deputy Minister attempted to exonerate himself from the cause of the crisis in Abia APC, falsifying the allegation, describing it as falsehood from the pit of hell. Ogah said that Ikechi Emenike, earlier suspended by the APC leadership in Abia, has been inciting conflicts in the state party for personal relevance.

Ogah, in the statement, declared; “For anyone, who cares to know, the Hon. Nwankpa-led State Exco remains the only State organ of the Party chosen by the people and recognised by all levels of the Party hierarchy. This group of Exco members, which has led the Party through thick and thin, including when the Party had not much to offer for services rendered on its behalf, has acquitted itself justifiably in the eyes of the entire APC faithful in Abia State.

Enyinnaya Harbour

“What then is the justification for an Enyinnaya Harbour, who is known not to possess the ability or political clout to win any election even in his Ward, to begin to lay claim to being “Factional Chairman” of APC in Abia State? Is there no limit to madness? Or must all manner of stupidity be displayed to the world in the name of politics?

“To put it more succinctly, if not for misleading politicians like Ikechi Emenike and a handful of co-travelers in his tour of mischief, where would the like of Enyinnaya Harbour muster the confidence and courage to put himself across to discerning minds as “Factional Chairman” of Abia APC, when, in fact, he knows that Emenike, the State Mischief Maker-in-Chief and his benefactor, has with the aid of funds provided by the ruling PDP in Abia State continued to instigate crisis to destabilise our Party?”

Uche Ogah had defected from the PDP to the APC where he contested the governorship ticket of the party and lost.

For unknown political calculations, Ogah attracted the favour of President Muhammadu Buhari who first awarded the minister oil bloc in the south-south before he was appointed a Minister of State.

The Minister has been deploying the federal might available to him to fight political battles in Abia State; he has been at war with APC leaders in the state who have grassroots control.
