The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) may be embarking on controversial reform with a party structure that edges out the party’s national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, from the scheme of things. Besides the urgent dissolution of the APC National Working Committee (NWC) which was dominate by Tinubu’s men, the emergent Caretaker Committee appointed at the Thursday National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, constitutes of members strange to the Tinubu camp.
The NEC also created more controversies by taking the national chairman away from the south and appointing chairman of the Caretaker Committee from the northeast.
APC Caretaker Committee and Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State had at the swearing in said that he has come to manage APC crisis, promising to be fair to all stakeholders.
the members of the committee include: Governor Mai Mala Buni, Chairman; Isiaka Oyebola, representing Southwest; Ken Nnamani, former Senate President, Southeast; Stella Okorete – Women Representative; Governor Sani Bello, North central; Dr. James Lalu, representing the physically challenged; Sen. Abubakar Yusuf, Senate representative; Hon. Akinyemi Olaide, House of Representatives; David leon, representing South-South; Abba Ari, Northwest; Prof. Tahir Mamman, Northeast; Ismail Ahmed, Youth representative; Sen. Akpan Udoedehe, Committee Secretary.
They are yet to be given time limit for the leadership crisis intervention.
