The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu, at a stakeholders meeting in Sokoto North Senatorial zone, urged party loyalists to work hard for the victory of the party in the 2023 general elections.
Aliyu, represented at the meeting by his running mate, Alhaji Idris Gobir, commended APC leaders in the state, noting that their commitments are encouraging.
Sokoto North senatorial district was said to comprise of eight local government areas identified as Sokoto North, Sokoto South, Wamakko, Binji, Tangaza, Kware, Silame and Gudu.
The governorship candidate stated: “We have experienced a lot of challenges after the 2019 elections mostly at the local government, now, we are committed to ensure party’s victory.”
He appealed to APC supporters in the state to mobilise more votes during the period of campaign.
The Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Maigari Dingyadi, at the meeting stated: “This is also an avenue for us to discuss our strategies toward ensuring peaceful campaign as well as free, fair and credible 2023 general elections in our state and the country at large.
“Our main objective in APC is to ensure the best future for Nigerians and lead a governance that will facilitate more developments in the society.
“As such we should continue to remain closer to our people and enlighten them on our struggle for Sokoto state and Nigeria.”
