APC laments blood for power election in Kwara

While the All Progressives Congress (APC) celebrates the victory of the party in the Saturday by-election in Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency, Kwara State conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) into the National Assembly, the blood of party members that flowed in an auto crash in the same zone gives the party leaders anguish to live with.  

Accordingly, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, on Monday, paid a visit to the families of the Kwara All Progressives Congress (APC) members who died in a motor accident between Omu-Aran and Oro, Kwara State on Sunday.

National Daily learnt that the Minister was accompanied on the visit by APC State Chairman in Kwara State, Bashir Bolarinwa, including Tunji Olawuyi, the newly elected member of the House of Representatives, Kwara South Senatorial District candidate for 2019, Lola Ashiru, and other APC stakeholders and leaders in the state.

It was indicated that the five persons lost in the accident came from Arandun, Agbonda, Omu-Aran, Oko and Odo Owa, in the Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency, where the APC won the by-election on Saturday.

The minister was further said to have visited the two hospitals in Omu-Aran, where the injured persons in the accident are receiving treatment to personally wish them a speedy recovery.

At Agbonda, the Minister and his entourage attended the funeral service for one of the five deceased members, Chief Ayobami Adekeye, an official of the party in Ajase Ward 2.

While visiting the homes of the deceased, the Minister commiserated with their families, commended members for their supreme sacrifice for the emancipation of the people of Kwara and promised that the party will not abandon their dependents.
