APC Primaries: 6 Northern states Tinubu may capitalize on to win APC’s presidential ticket

As the 2023 presidential election gradually draws closer, the battle on who will replace President Muhammadu Buhari has become the major discourse of the day. It will interest you to note that the ruling All Progressives Congress APC are strategizing on how they can retain power by presenting a sellable presidential candidate that can replace Buhari. Because of the forthcoming APC presidential primary election, it will interest you to note that the party has pegged its presidential form for the sum of N100m and has also adopted an indirect mode of a primary election.

An indirect primary election is one in that party members elect delegates from among themselves who in turn elect the party’s flag-bearers for upcoming elections. Out of the several political gladiators in the party that has indicated interest to run for the presidency, the national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu remains the favorite candidate to clinch the party’s presidential ticket due to his popularity as the party has decided to adopt indirect primaries to determine Buhari’s successor.

Bola Tinubu already has the support of the pivotal states where most of the delegates are going to come from. Below are lists of five northern states where Tinubu is sure to win majority of the party’s delegates:

1. Katsina State

It will you to note that the executive governor of the State, Aminu Bello Masari has been a very good ally of Tinubu. He has often affirmed that when Tinubu leads, others will follow him.

2. Nasarawa State

Governor Abdullahi Sule who is a staunch supporter of Tinubu has once attended his State Executive Council meeting with a signature of Tinubu’s cap. He is a loyal supporter of Tinubu.

3. Kano State

Everyone knows that Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has an open admiration for Bola Tinubu. He respects him so much to extent that he can go to any level to mobilize support for him.

4. Jigawa State

It will interest you to note that Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar and the former governor Ibrahim Saminu Turaki of the state are Tinubu’s close allies. They will surely want to maintain their relationship with him and help woo the delegates to him.

5. Borno State

Governor Babagana Zulum and his predecessor Kassim Shettima are well-known supporters of Bola Tinubu’s candidacy.

6. Niger State

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, the Executive Governor of Niger State has since endorsed Tinubu’s candidacy. He will not fail to deliver the delegates from his state to Tinubu.
