The Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday released guidelines and schedule of activities for by-elections into state and federal legislatures in four states.
The National Secretary of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Sen. John James Akpanudoedehe, in a statement in Abuja, disclosed the details of the timetable and schedule of activities for the concurrent legislative by-elections approved by party.
Akpanudoedehe indicated that the expression of interest and nomination forms for the House of Representatives elections cost N3,850, 000, while aspirants for State House of Assembly, will pay N850, 000 for the forms. The party leadership approved 50% of the prescribed fees for purchase of forms for female and physically challenged aspirants.
The party had expressed that the timetable was released in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines.
The states where the by-elections will be conducted by the INEC include Cross River State (Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency and Akpabuyo state Constituency); Imo State (Ngor-Okpala state Constituency); Ondo State (Akure North/Akure South Federal Constituency); Plateau State (Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency and Pankshin South State Constituency).
