The 2 Brigade, Nigerian Army, is set to hold the West African Social Party (WASA) on Saturday to promote social interaction among its personnel, their families, and the civil populace.
In a statement issued in Uyo on Wednesday, Lt. Adebowale Adejimi, the Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 2 Brigade, explained that the WASA event aligns with the traditions, customs, and ethics of the Nigerian Army.
Adejimi emphasized that the social party has been an annual event since its inception, providing a platform for fostering civil-military cooperation.

“We use it to create an atmosphere for interaction among personnel, their families, and the civil population.
It also serves as a medium to showcase the cultural values of the country’s ethnic groups,” he stated.
Additionally, the event will be an opportunity to recognize soldiers who have distinguished themselves over the past year.
