In a shocking incident that has gripped Bauchi State, the
Police Command has announced the arrest of a 19-year-old woman, Esther Gambo, in connection with the alleged theft of a newborn and the gruesome murders of two young girls.
The suspect, a resident of Lemoro Village in the Toro Local government area, is currently in police custody as investigations intensify.According to a press release issued on Thursday by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, the tragic events unfolded when Esther Gambo reportedly lured Khadija Sama’ila and A’isha Dahiru, both seven years old, from their home in Unguwan Sarkin Yaki Village.

Upon receiving the distressing report, a swift and coordinated response was launched by a team of police officers, working in collaboration with local vigilante groups.
Their prompt action led to a grim discovery of the deceased bodies of the two young girls.
Simultaneously, law enforcement was able to apprehend Esther Gambo at the scene and, crucially, rescue a kidnapped newborn victim, whose identity and connection to the suspect are yet to be fully disclosed.
The incident has sparked widespread concern and outrage within the community, highlighting the vulnerabilities of children to such heinous acts.
