Former Real Madrid striker and Ballon d’Or winner, Karim Benzema, has signed a three-year contract with Al-Ittihad, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Al-Ittihad in a tweet on Tuesday, confirming the contract, wrote: “Benzema is here. A new tiger will roar. Welcome to Ittihad!”
Benzema will add to the commitment to raise the standard of football in Saudi Arabia by the authorities of that country. Earlier, Christiano Ronaldo, a former Real Madrid player, had been playing with Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia, after he left Manchester United of England after the last World Cup.
Also, Lionel Messi of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), France, has been linked to negotiation with a club Saudi Arabia, to increase the migration international football stars to the Gulf Kingdom.
