The militia wing of the Biafra Nations League (BNL) has disclosed the destruction of a newly constructed market by the government of Cameroon in the Idabato subdivision, Bakassi Peninsula. The Chief Head of Operations of the Biafra Nations League (BNL), Henry Edet, on Thursday accepted the group’s responsibility for the destruction of the market, saying that armed members of the Biafra Nations League burnt the market in the early hours of Thursday.
Edet further said that the action was taken in retaliation to the 24 hours network obstructed in the region on May 30, during the 54th anniversary of Biafra declaration.
The Biafra Nations League (BNL) has for long declared the Bakassi Peninsula a Biafra territory, warning of any form of invasion or trespassing by either the Nigerian or Cameroonian government. The BNL consistently threatened violent resistance to any incursion into the territory by external forces outside Biafra.
