Former Lagos Governor and All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reacted after the presidency released a statement to his outburst in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Tinubu had said while he was in Abeokuta to seek the support of the delegates for his presidential ambition, that if not for the role he played in 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari would not have won the presidential election.

However, the presidency in a veiled response to Tinubu slammed him for taking credit for the victory of President Buhari in 2015.

In a statement released by Garba Shehu, the senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, the presidency said no one can take credit for the president’s victory in 2015.

The statement said so many people played parts and not just one individual in the emergence of Buhari as president in 2015.

Following this statement, former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, in an open letter to Tinubu warned him to be wary of danger as bids to become the presidential candidate of the APC.

The former Ekiti Governor said Tinubu is swimming against the political tide of the cabal in his party.

Reacting on his verified Twitter account, Tinubu said in Yoruba, “Elo Fokan Bale!”

Meaning “calm down or settle down.”

The APC national leader seems not to be too bothered.

Meanwhile, the ruling party is expected to announce who its presidential candidate is soon.
