Ronaldo thereafter found the back of the net once again versus West Ham United in London as the Red Devils returned to Old Trafford from the capital with three points, just over a week later.
The Portugal international in a tight contest has beaten off competition from Liverpool’s sensation Mohamed Salah, Manchester City full-back and international compatriot Joao Cancelo, Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger, Newcastle forward Allan Saint-Maximin and Watford winger Ismaila Sarr to clinch the illustrious award as decided by votes from supporters on the Premier League website combined with an assessment from a panel of football experts.
Ronaldo had previously won the award Premier League POTM award four times during his first spell at Old Trafford; November and December, 2006 and again January and March, 2008 before quitting United for Real Madrid in 2009
