BREAKING: Relief for Chelsea fans as Antonio Rudiger finally speaks on his transfer speculations

Chelsea’s central defender Antonio Rudiger with his contract at Stamford Bridge due to expire next summer has attracted some speculations around his transfer.

The 28-year-old German who is free to open talks with overseas teams from as early as January regarding a possible move has reportedly attracted interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid and as well as from Bundesliga titans Bayern Munich.

It is also believed that other European giants like Paris Saint-Germain have been alerted to the situation and are ready to test Chelsea’s resolve for the Germany international, who was integral to the Blues success last season.

Meanwhile, reporting reaching National Daily reveals that Rudiger could be extending his stay at Stamford Bridge when he is believed to have though been flattered to have attracted interest from Bayern, but ‘feels good’ at Chelsea and remains focused on the season ahead.

However, further report reaching National Daily claims that Rudiger is being viewed as the an central member of Chelsea squad by boss Thomas Tuchel has reportedly been offered a bumper £120,000-a-week deal to in an attempt to keep him at Stamford Bridge.

It therefore comes as a relief for the Blues fans as Rudiger who has nervously kept Chelsea waiting as he mulls over his options has finally dropped the biggest hint yet that he could be putting pen to paper on a new contract as he addressed the media on Tuesday.

Asked whether he would like to return to the Bundesliga next summer, Rudiger told reporters: ‘I feel good at Chelsea where I am now, so that fits.

‘The interest from Bayern Munich honours me because that shows that I’ve done a few things right recently, but I won’t let that distract me.’

Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann has repeatedly batted away questions surrounding a possible bid for Rudiger and the club’s sporting director adopted a similar approach when quizzed on the matter last week.

‘We are really well filled in the centre-back position,’ Hasan Salihamidzic told DAZN.

‘We have strengthened ourselves very well and brought in a top player in Dayot Upamecano.

‘Lucas Hernandez is here, Tanguy Nianzou is there and Benjamin Pavard can also play inside so we really are very, very well staffed.’

The former Roma defender has enjoyed 159 appearances for Chelsea since arriving from the Italian giants in a £29million deal back in 2017 and has helped the Blues win the Champions League, the Europa League, the FA Cup and the Super Cup.
