Buhari swears in seven new ministers

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday sworn in seven new ministers after their confirmation by the Senate, appointed to replace those who resigned to contest the 2023 general elections.

The ministers were administered the oath of office at eth State House before the Federal Executive Council Meeting began at the Council Chamber.

The president told the new ministers  to consider their emergence as a call to duty that demands diligent service to the nation.

The ministers include Henry Ikoh from Abia State, Umana Okon Umana, Akwa-Ibom State, Udi Odum, Rivers State; Ademola Adegoroye, Ondo State; Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub, Kano State; Goodluck Nana Opiah, Imo State and Ekumankama Nkama, Ebonyi State.

The Council observed one minute silence to honour of the demise of the outgoing Secretary-General of OPEC, Dr. Mohammed Barkindo, who died on Tuesday evening, hours after meeting with President Buhari.
