Chelsea faces an uphill task this season at the EPL following a transfer ban for breaking FIFA rules that has prevented the club from buying new players this season.

Following the exit of Hazard, the club performance this season has been below average, and with another player, this time a goal keeper, leaving the club on loan, the club may be facing a bleak future in the league.

The UEFA Europa League winner on Tuesday confirmed that 25-year-old goalkeeper, Jamal Blackman, has left the club on a season-long loan deal to join Vitesse Arnhem.

In a statement on the club’s official website, Goalkeeper Jamal Blackman will spend the season on loan in the Netherlands at Vitesse Arnhem.

“The 25-year-old Chelsea Academy product has been loaned to Championship clubs for the past two seasons but had the misfortune to suffer a broken leg in November last year in a game for Leeds United, so returned to Chelsea after just two appearances for the Elland Road side.

“In contrast, the previous season in Yorkshire when loaned to Sheffield United he gained plenty of experience and just missed out on the promotion play-offs, playing 33 times and keeping nine clean sheets.”

Blackman is an FA Youth Cup winner with Chelsea and a former England Under-19 international.

The shot-stopper has also been on loan to Ostersunds and Wycombe Wanderers.

Chelsea was banned from the transfer window

In March, FIFA banned Chelsea from registering new players for the next two transfer windows, through to January 2020 for breaking FIFA rules over the signing of foreign U18 players.

Chelsea were charged after FIFA said it found breaches in 29 cases of 92 investigated.
