Stamford Bridge fans couldn’t have wished for a better start to the season as Chelsea have done. The blues are unbeaten in four matches so far with only one draw coming against Liverpool at Anfield.
Tuchel started the season with the Super Cup title and has built the team around winning the Premier League title this season. New signings like Lukaku have brought in a tremendous impact on Chelsea’s attack and they have been touted to compete strongly for the PL title this season.
Indeed that has started well in the race for the League title, winning three matches and drawing one with three clean sheets in four games played so far, shows the blues mean business this season and are ready to rival Man City and other big aspirants to be crowned King of the Premier League.
However, their Next Two PL fixtures Could see them drop vital points in this tight and fierce title race. These fixtures are big games and would promise more difficulty than the 3-0 win over Villa and their previous clean sheet wins against Crystal Palace and Arsenal.
Chelsea is preparing to face
1. Tottenham Sunday 19th September
Tottenham’s only loss this season came against Crystal Palace yesterday. A 3-0 defeat at Selhurst Park after Spurs Tangaga was sent off, demoted them from 1st place to 5th on the league table. Nevertheless, Nuno Espirito’s side should not be underestimated and a little ‘whack’ in Tuchel’s defending tactic could set them on a path of recovery rather than leading in the game.
Tottenham beat Manchester City 1-0 on their debut game of the new season. The same result could occur with Chelsea as both sides happen to be specialists in the defensive area. Chelsea is very capable of winning the match, but given the like of the club, they are up against, a draw is more predictable-worthy.
Manchester City 25th September
This match carries the most potential of delivering Chelsea their first loss of the season. They are up against the high-flying defending Champions here. This is who they are in a race to beat and dethrone and they could succeed at the end, but it a meeting with Man City on the 25th may not contribute positively to that race.
One major reason why they could drop points here is the fact that they would have played two tough games in a space of four days before that, Tottenham like we said above and Aston Villa again in the EFL third round on the 22nd. There is not enough resting time for the players and whether they rotate the squad or not, Chelsea is likely to drop points in either of the two matches stated above.
