Abubakar, at the Second Quarter Route March of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Wednesday in Abuja, reiterated the military’s resolve to safeguard the nation’s airspace and protect citizens across the country.

He declared: “We will continue to defend every inch of our nation’s airspace and remain steadfast in joint operations to protect lives and property,” Abubakar said. “To the enemies of our nation, know this: there will be no hiding place. We are coming for you. We will find you and take you out.”

Air Marshal Abubakar reaffirmed that the NAF’s foremost duty is the protection of all Nigerians, describing it not just as an obligation, but a top priority for every officer, airman, and airwoman.

He expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support to the Armed Forces, particularly in the areas of operational readiness and personnel welfare. He reaffirmed the loyalty and commitment of the Nigerian Air Force to the Commander-in-Chief.

“As a matter of policy, I have directed that all Performance Evaluation Reports must include a Physical Fitness Test Certificate. No personnel will be considered for promotion without being medically and physically fit,” he announced.

Drawing a parallel between the route march and the broader mission of national security, Abubakar encouraged NAF personnel to remain focused and resilient.

“The journey to national security and lasting peace is filled with challenges. But those who persevere with discipline and determination will achieve victory,” he said.

“Let today’s route march remind us of who we are and what we stand for. We are not just marching on roads; we are marching with purpose — toward honour, peace, and victory for Nigeria.”

The march is part of the NAF’s ongoing efforts to promote physical fitness, discipline, and operational readiness among its personnel.
