Residents assembled on Friday for mass burial of 37 persons killed in bandits attack in Malagum and Sokwong communities, Kaura Local Government Area, Kaduna State. The victims were killed by bandits last Sunday when the militia group invaded their communities.
The remains of the dead victims were conveyed to the burial ground in a truck. The victims included children, aged men, and women, and youths.
Church leaders during funeral service, condemned the attack, challenging the government to up security measures to protect citizens in the country.
The Catholic Bishop of Kafanchan Diocese, Most Reverend Julius Kundu, in his sermon, berated the government, protesting that the government has failed to discharge its constitutional responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the citizens.
The Bishop told citizens to demand justice from the government.
