The federal high Court, Abuja, on Monday struck out a suit by former presidential candidate of Hope Democratic Party (HDP), Ambrose Owuru, seeking the removal of President Muhammadu Buhari from office on the 2019 elections. The presiding judge of the Federal high Court, Justice Inyang Ekwo, in a judgment on Monday dismissed the suit of the former presidential candidate of Hope Democratic Party, Ambrose Owuru, seeking to dethrone President Buhari who of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the 2019 election, on three grounds.

The three grounds include that the suit constituted a gross abuse of court process, it was statute-barred, and was an affront to the Supremacy of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

The judge also stated that the suit was baseless, frivolous, and vexatious in its entirety.

The plaintiff, Owuru, in the suit, sought an order of the court to declare the presidential seat vacant and swear him in as the authentic winner of that 2019 presidential election.
