The Commissioner of Police newly posted to Zamfara State, CP Ayuba Elkana, has vowed to flush put bandits from the state. He assured residents of Zamfara State that he will modify the security architecture to strengthen the state Police Command to launch onslaught on bandits in the state.
CP Ayuba Elkana at his first press conference at the Command Headquarters in Gusau, Zamfara State, assured residents of the state of the commitment and determination of the police to improve security and guarantee the safety of all in Zamfara State.
CP Ayuba Elkana emphasised that community policing would be strengthened, promising that he would carry the people along, so that in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, they can tame the recalcitrant bandits, who have refused to embrace the peace initiative of the state government.
The CP also assured that policing the state would be guided by intelligence and foreknowledge, including strategic, operational, tactical levels, and be proactive, to prevent crimes and criminalities.
CP Ayuba Elkana admonished the bandits to accept the peace initiative and amnesty proposed by the governor of the state, and surrender their arms or face the full wrath of the law.
The CP assured that the police will conform with constitutional provisions and professional ethics of the force in carrying out their mandate in the state under his watch.
