A former Governor of Anambra State, Dame Virgy Etiaba, on Monday celebrated what she considered the blaze of glory in her tribute to the demised wife of Nigeria’s first Head of State, Victoria Aguiyi Ironsi, and wife of a former Premier of the Eastern Region, Mrs. Adanma Okpara. Dame Etiaba acknowledged that the roles both Ladies played in ensuring husbands exhibited quintessential leadership roles in Nigeria remains case study materials till tomorrow.
Dame Etiaba in a statement on Monday, indicated: “With gratitude to God for lives well spent and worthy of emulation, I received the news of the passing on to glory of our nation’s finest Ladies, Mrs. Victoria Aguiyi Ironsi, and Mrs. Adanma Okpara.
“The roles both Ladies played in ensuring husbands exhibited quintessential leadership roles in Nigeria remains case study materials till tomorrow.
“I pay this humble tribute to two of these most distinguished Ladies of this era, Lady Victoria Aguiyi Ironsi, and Lady Adanma Okpara.
“Without any shadow of a doubt, both lived fulfilled and graceful lives, proudly survived by their children, several grand and great grandchildren of note.
“Both distinguished Ladies having left an indelible footprint on the sands of time, have now left this world to eternity, on a blaze of glory. I pray therefore, that they have now found everlasting peace in the bosom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”
