Dangote Refinery cuts petrol price to N820, rolls out 4,000 CNG trucks nationwide

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals (DPRP) has announced a reduction in its ex-gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, from N850 to N820 per litre.

The announcement was made on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, by Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Industries Limited, who confirmed that the price change took effect immediately.

“Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot (gantry) price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) by N30, from N850 to N820 per litre, effective August 12, 2025,” Chiejina stated.

He assured Nigerians that the refinery remains committed to maintaining a steady and uninterrupted supply of petroleum products across the country.

In a major logistics upgrade, Chiejina revealed that the refinery will begin the phased deployment of 4,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks for nationwide fuel distribution starting August 15.

“In line with our dedication to operational excellence and sustainable energy solutions, Dangote Petroleum Refinery will commence the phased rollout of 4,000 CNG-powered trucks for fuel distribution across Nigeria,” he said.

The move aligns with the refinery’s strategy to lower fuel costs while promoting environmentally friendly transportation within the energy distribution network.
