Afrobeats star Davido has condemned a viral video showing a bullying incident at Igbinedion Secondary School in Edo State.
In a post on X on Sunday, the singer, whose real name is David Adeleke, reacted to the footage, describing the incident as “so disgusting.”
The video showed two male students beating and kicking another student who was lying on the ground. One of the attackers was seen dragging the victim by his suit and stomping on his chest while a third student recording the incident pleaded for them to stop.
The clip sparked widespread outrage online, prompting disciplinary action by the school. According to a statement from the Police Public Relations Officer, Eno Ikioedem, the school had expelled the students directly involved, while the student who recorded the video was suspended.
The statement added that the Commissioner of Police in Edo State, Monday Agbonika, had directed a detailed inquiry into the matter.
“The Edo State Police Command totally condemns acts of bullying, violence, or intimidation among students, and anyone found culpable will be dealt with in accordance with the law,” the command said.
Investigations are ongoing, and authorities assured the public that those involved would be arrested and prosecuted according to the law and their respective ages.
