Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu of Edo State was on Monday locked out of his old office at the Government House, Benin City.
The deputy governor had arrived the Government House in the early hours of Monday, but was denied access to his office, as the entrance gate was locked.

There is insinuation that the Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa, had transmitted a letter to the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Deputy Governor, ordering Deputy Governor Shuaibu to relocate to a new office at No 7, Dennis Osadebey Avenue, GRA, Benin City.
The deputy governor was last week reported to be packing out of his old office to the new office.
At the time of the relocation, the new office was said not to be properly renovated.
Meanwhile, Shaibu has denied receiving any letter directing him to relocate from his old office.
According to the deputy governor, in a media interaction on Monday, “Up till now, I don’t have any official communication that I should relocate.
The only people that have official communication are my civil servants. The civil servants have official communication but I don’t.
” As I am speaking to you now, I am standing by the gate.”
